Removing a Colour Cast
as Demonstrated by
Bob Rowe ARPS
The following technique for removing/reducing a colour cast was demonstrated by Rob Rowe when visiting our group on Sunday 7th march 2004
Use the Eyedropper Tool to sample the colour cast where it shows upon an area within the image that should be of a neutral grey tone.
The 'sampled colour' will appear as the Foreground Colour at the base of the Tool Bar.
Create a New (empty) Layer (Click on the New Layer icon at the base of the Layers Palette (it looks like a sheet of paper with a folder corner).
Fill the new, empty, layer with the Foreground Colour - use Alt + Backspace
Invert (make negative) the colour by Ctr + I

Change the Blend Mode for this layer from 'Normal' to 'Colour'.
Adjust the Layer Opacity slider to an appropriate level to reduce or remove the colour cast.
That's it.
