Formed in 1997 as a Specialist Interest Group within the RPS structure, the group explores Digital Imaging in a variety of contexts.

We meet every two months on a Sunday at

To attend meetings you need to become a member of the group.
If you belong to the RPS Digital Imaging Group (not just the RPS) there is no further charge to join our group. Otherwise, you must pay a £5.00 LIFE membership fee
(£7.50 for partners or two members of the same family).

Each meeting lasts all day, and you need to bring a packed lunch.
Tea and coffee are provided free, and there is a bar with very reasonable prices.
Doors open at 9.30 and meetings start promptly at 10.30, finishing around 4 pm.
There is a £5 entry fee each time.

Booking Your Place
With a large membership we have had to introduce a booking system.
130 places are available for each meeting, on a 'first come first served' basis.
Booking for each meeting opens on the evening of the previous meeting. So, for example, you may book for the May event any time from the evening of the March meeting.

"Three Great Photographers and Imagers in one Day"

Simon Barrow
HDR images of Liverpool
To illustrate his imaginative way of working, Simon will describe thre techniques he uses to craft his stunning images

Simon is a Liverpool based freelance photographer and retoucher, he's currently involved in documenting Liverpool. Simon has written a number of tutorials for Channel 4’s Picture This and set a number of projects for the website created from the TV show. Photographically he has been influenced by Trey Ratcliff, due to his embrace of HDR/tone mapping post processing. Simon will take us through the processes of the techniques he uses to craft his stunning images.

John and Marion are both from 'Chasing the Light'
This afternoon will show us AV techniques with Pictures to Exe 5.5 and project some of their award winning presentations.

John is a member of the Wilmslow Guild Audio Visual group and The Royal Photographic Society. He was awarded his ARPS distinction by the RPS in April 2004 and his DPAGB distinction by the PAGB in Mar 2005.

Marion joined the Wilmslow Guild Audio Visual Group, she had been inspired to 'have a go' a few years beforehand. She is now a well established figure in the AudioVisual community. A member of The Royal Photographic Society, Marion gained her ARPS, AV- AFIAP and DPAGB in Audio Visual. John and Marion also orgainise the North Wales & Wirral AV Group and Digital Audio Visual Workshops

This will be a practical demonstration plus sequences. The first half demonstrates two programmes needed for digital AV 'Cool-Edit' and 'Pictures to EXE' . In the second half we'll see sequences by John and Marion plus samples of work from other members of Wilmslow Guild AV group including Ron Davies FRPS FIPF EFIAP and Peter Coles BSc Dip Ed FRPS FIPF EFIAP
