This 'module' introduces the participant to the fascinating and intriguing miniature world of 'close-up'. Cameras, equipment, accessories and lighting are discussed.

The course covers how the creative use selective focus and 'depth of field', composition and form within the frame, seeing pictures on the small scale, using polarised light and special filters.

The participant is encouraged to select a theme and produce a set of pictures based upon it.
Through discussion, practice and illustration the student is encouraged to improve his/her critical skills and thus improve picture making.
