The appropriate choice of equipment, lenses and accessories is discussed.

The concepts of 'record' and 'expression' are examined, as too is the most suitable lighting, viewpoint, angle and the introduction of foreground interest.
The conventions of composition as relevant to this genre are discussed and evaluated.

The participant is encouraged to select a theme and produce a set of pictures based upon it. Through discussion, practice and illustration the student is encouraged to improve his/her critical skills and thus improve picture making.
